A 27-year-old man was evaluated for a painless cyst on the floor of the mouth. If the cyst involves the floor of the mouth, it is called ranula.The etiology of the lesion is unknown, although obstruction of a minor salivary gland duct has been implicated. Total excision is the treatment of choice.
