A 65-year-old woman was evaluated for a swelling on the right side of his neck for 4 months. He also had a recent history of a change in his voice. The tumor moved with chewing and was suspected to represent disseminated thyroid carcinoma. However, However, fine needle aspirate cytology revealed squamous cell carcinoma. Laryngoscopy showed an ulcerative growth involving the pyriform fossa. Biopsy from the growth revealed squamous cell carcinoma. The thyroidas involved as a result of direct extension of larygeal carcinoma.
