This 45-year-old man had a 6 month history of pain and difficulty in swallowing solid food and increasing right neck swelling for 3 months. Fine needle aspirate cytology revealed squamous cell carcinoma in a cervical lymphnode. Endoscopic examination showed an ulcerated tumor in the upper third of esophagus. Biopsy from the eosphageal lesion showed a well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.

Description

Panel-A shows the neck sweling. Panel-B&D showt he biopsy from the esophageal tumor with pleomorphic sqamous cells with squamous pearl formation. Panel-C shows invasion and lymphocytic infiltration.
