Comments

A 12-year-old boy developed severely pruritic papules and vesicles on his palms and the dorsal aspects of both hands. Topical steroids did not help with the itching. This eruption was preceded by a large scaly edematous red plaque (kerion) on his lower left leg which grew Microsporum canus on fungal culture. All skin lesions and symoptoms resolved with treatment with oral griseofulvin.
