A 24-year-old man developed hives on the second day of treatment of a respiratory tract infection with oral amoxacillin. He had similar episodes of urticarial while taking oral amoxicillin a year earliert. The wheals changed from minute to minute and cleared 3 days after discontinuation of the antibiotic.
