Comments

Wells syndrome, or eosinophilic cellulitis, is an exuberant eosinophlic reaction, possibly to an arthropod bite. The characteristic finding on histology is the flame figures, seen in this case, which are collections of degranulating eosinophils. Without clinical history, other thoughts include drug eruptions or hypereosinophilic syndrome.

Description

There is an infiltrate in the dermis. The epidermis is uninvolved. The infiltrate is somewhat nodular, in a perivascular distribution. It extends to the deep dermis.
