This 17-year-old boy complained of a blistering rash on his left leg for 3 days. He had tender left inguinal adenopathy and scattered vesicles on his neck and back. Serological studies were positive for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. The skin eruption cleared after a week of oral acyclovir.
