This 10-year-old white boy demonstrated velvety thickening of the axillae associated with a bothersome odor. He had similar findings around the neck, waist, and knuckles. He was moderately obese which is typical of acanthosis nigricans. The case was prepared by a third medical student at the University of Missippi School of Medicine Erica Maxwell.
