At birth this healthy 8-year-old boy was noted to have 2 linear crusted patches. Over the first few months of life they healed with hairless scars. He had no history of forceps delivery, amniocentesis, or scalp electrodes or monitors. His mother had a similar 1 cm diameter scar on her vertex.
