This healthy adolescent boy developed an itchy eczematous eruption on his arms followed by a generalized red papular "id" reaction or autoeczematization. Although the cause of the primary contact was not clear, he was known to be allergic to poison ivy, and he spent the weekend in the woods before developing the eczematous lesions on his arms. He responded quickly to tapering 2 week course of oral steroids.
