A 15-year-old girl was evaluated for linear purpuric patches on her arms and chest. The patches appeared suddenly and healed over several days. New lesions appeared for several months. She seemed depressed, and a psychiatric consultation revealed a recent history of sexual abuse that preceded the onset of cutaneous purpura.
