Comments

A 50 year old woman, who presented with facial edema, heliotrope rash, and muscle weakness 1 year earlier, responded well to systemic corticosteroids. A thorough medical evaluation failed to demonstrate an underlying malignancy. Her face shows the typical edema and violaceous eruption that was widespread with symmetric involvement of her neck, chest, arms, and hands as well.
