A 40-year-old man developed enlarging confluent annular red plaques on his neck. The clinical diagnosis of dermatophytosis was confirmed with a fungal culture which grew Trhchophyton mentagrophytes. The patient was treated with topical terbinafine and lesions resolved in two weeks.The organism was transmitted by a guinea pig.
