The basal lamina is found in the blister roof in dermolytic variants of epidermolysis bullosa. Clinical findings in this patient included scarring and milia at sites of healed blisters.

Description

Antibodies directed against type IV collagen, which is found in the basal lamina, form an intense band on the blister roof.
