Description

This 35-year-old woman had multiple, varying-sized, well-defined, reddish plaques with thick adherent scales on her nose, cheeks, scalp, ears and upper back for a duration of two years. Skin biopsy from a lesion showed typical features of discoid lupus. On chloroquine therapy, the lesions healed with scarring and prominent hypo- as well as hyperpigmentation. The lesion on her scalp gave rise to scarring alopecia.
