A 28 year old woman with fever and neutropenia while on chemotherapy for treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia developed several tender edematous papules on her thighs. Over 1-2 days the papules become necrotic with the formation of black well demarcated eschars. Cultures from blood and the necrotic eschar grew Pseudomonas aeruginosa
