Comments

This 16-month-old boy developed acute pruritus and dramatic edema of the shaft of the penis and scrotum and suprapubic area with excoriations and crusted papules. He had no fever or tenderness but continued to scratch constantly in the emergency room. He was admitted for intravenoud antibiotics and dramatically improved over night with tepid tap water compresses. Skin cultures grew normal flora, he never developed fever or leukocytosis, and all topical agents were discontinued except for petrolatum.
