Comments

This patient had many years of itching without a clear diganosis. After a biopsy in 1999 that confirmed extramammary pagets disease, she underwent left vulva removal. Her symptoms returned, and she was diagnosed with recurrent extramammary pagets in 2003. She underwent Mohs micrographic surgery in 2004. The Division of Dermatology Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is conducting a study, which is approved by the Johns Hopkins Human Rights Committee, to investigate the use of confocal microscopy to determine the extent of tumor beyond the clinically visible extent of the lesion.
