Comments

This newborn was placed on a special cooling protocol following perinatal asphyxia. On the second day of life asymmetric subcutaneous nodules with slight overlying erythema were noted on the upper back, right shoulder and proximal arm. The lesions did not appear to be tender and improved during the first moth of life. A complete blood count and chemistries including calcium and phosphate were normal.
