A febrile, aplastic, critically ill 48 year old man with leukemia was evaluated for purpuric macules, papules, and patches disseminated over his body. A skin biopsy showed vasculitis with fungal organisms in vessels. Pulmonary, ocular, and cerebral fungus balls were also found. The patient died shortly after the photographs were taken.
