This healthy 58-year-old woman developed a generalized annular eruption of asymptomatic dermal papules and nodules. A skin biopsy showed granulomatous inflammation with necrobiotic changes typical of granuloma annulare. Screening chemistry studies were normal, and there was no family history of diabetes mellitus.
