Granuloma faciale is considered a form of vasculitis, which is highlighted in this case. The histology is usually characteristic but in less developed forms, the differential diagnosis may include acneiform processes (rosacea) or granulomatous processes (lupus miliaris).

Description

A higher power shows a destroyed blood vessel with an intense background infiltrate. The infiltrate consists of neutrophils, eosinophils, lymphocytes, plasma cells, and histiocytes.
