A 10-year-old boy developed a palpable purpuric eruption on his buttocks, legs, and abdomen, with a few subtle lesions on his arms. He had no history of abdominal colic, periarticular swelling, or recent medication exposure. He had an upper respiratory tract infection and a brief episode of diarrhea a month earlier. A complete blood count with platelet count, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, urinalysis, and blood pressure were normal.
