Comments

This 16 month old boy sustained a full thickness burn to the anogenital area after being held in a tub under a hot water spigot. Some areas on the penis required grafting to repair the resulting defect. Note the sharp line of demarcation along the thighs. Although these bullae were initally mistaken for bullous impetigo, the intense pain, the large size and tenseness of the inatct bullae, the lack of purulent exudate, and the acute onset of the eruption were not consistent with infection in this normal host.
