The large keloid on the bottom of the ear was excised using the carbon dioxide laser, the base of the wound was vaporized, and the wound was allowed to heal by secondary intention. Immediately after surgery the wound bed was irradiated with superficial x-ray. The wound is well healed and repigmenting in this image taken 6 weeks after surgery. The scar was injected with 0.2 cc's of triamcinilone 40 mg/cc.
