This 8-year-old boy had a 1 month history of a large boggy swelling on the scalp associated with tenderness, hair loss, erythema, scaling and regional lymphadenpathy. Prior to the the development of this highly inflammatory lesion, he had a 2 month history of a persistent large hairless patch with erythema and scale. He was treated with oral Griseofulvin (20mg/kg/day) for three months.
