An 18 month old boy with Langerhans cell histiocytosis developed a progressive interstitial pneumonitis and died after a prolonged downhill course. At 12 months of age he presented with a widespread crusted scaly papular rash, adenopathy, hepatosplenomgaly, and poor growth.
