A 9 year old girl developed a persistent bullous diaper dermatitis for 6 months. Cultures for bacteria, fungi, and viruses were negative, and the rash failed to respond to multiple topical preparations. A skin biopsy demonstrated a subepidermal blister, and immunofluorescence showed linear IgA deposition. The lesions healed within 7 days with oral dapsone.
