Comments

This healthy 11-year-old girl awoke in the morning with linear purpuric patches on her arms. The patches waxed and waned for months without apparent cause. The eruption was not symptomatic and a full medical evaluation including complete blood count and coagulation studies were normal. These lesions are consistent with what we call penny purpura and is probably triggered in mos cases by rubbing with a blunt object or coin.
