This healthy 5 year old girl was mistakenly evaluated for sexual abuse when she was noted to develop confluent atrophic hypopigmented fibrotic plaques involving the vulvae, vagina, and perineum. Although she had only minimal intermittent pruritus, minor trauma resulted in recurrent petechiae and larger areas of bruising which were misinterpreted as child abuse.
