Comments

This lesion was removed from the buttock of an infant. Lymphangioma circumscriptum may represent a neoplasm of lymphatic endothelial cells or perhaps a congenital malformation. The differential diagnosis would include other lymphangiomas or lymphangiectasia.

Description

At higher power, the vascular channels are lined by a single layer of plump, bland endothelial cells. The channels are filled with serum and a few red blood cells. The septa are thin and delicate.
