Comments

This patient presented with a skin mass. Following the diagnosis of metastatic adenocarcinoma (and an immunoprofile suggestive of primary salivary origin), a mass was found in the parotid gland. Metastatic carcinoma from the salivary gland is unusual. When it occurs, like most metastases, there is a predilection for the skin in the region of the primary tumor.

Description

Within the dermis there are atypical eosinophilic nests admixed with hemorrhage. The epidermis is uninvolved.
