This severely ill adolescent with multiorgan failure and high fever developed widespread 2 mm vesicles on a non-inflammatory base on her trunk and proximal extremities. In areas where the miliaria were most prominent she had fine scaling which probably obstructed the sweat ducts in the stratum corneum high in the epidermis.
