Comments

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is composed of a combination of mucous producing cells and squamous or epidermoid cells. The mucous cells vary in shape but contain abundant foamy cytoplasm. The epidermoid cells demonstrate a polygonal shape, intercellular bridges, and rarely contain keratin. A third type of cell, the intermediate cell, has a basaloid appearance and is thought to be a progenitor cell of the mucous and epidermoid cells.

Description

Numerous large mucous cells surround the cystic spaces.
