The histologic features of solitary cutaneous neurofibromas are identical to those seen in neurofibromatosis.

Description

At higher magnification, the spindle cells are uniform in size and contain oval- to spindle-shaped nuclei. An abundance of mast cells is typically present, which can be highlighted by a Giemsa stain.
