This 48-year-old woman presented with multiple disseminated, 2 mm to 5 cm, soft, sessile, asymptomatic, skin-colored and brown papules and nodules. The lesions began to develop at puberty and gradually increased in number and size. A large lesion on her right ear obliterated the ear canal causing hearing impairment. She also had multiple café-au-lait macules and axillary and inguinal freckles that were present since early childhood. Lisch nodules were noted on her irides on ophthalmologic consultation. She was otherwise healthy. Seven family members in three generations had similar skin lesions..
