Comments

This case has a somewhat unusual presentation because papillary eccrine adenomas typically present on the extremities of dark-skinned individuals. The clinician in this case of a 37-year-old white woman suspected a dermatofibroma. These behave in a benign fashion. Apocrine variants exist.

Description

At higher power of the same lesion, one can appreciate the small papillary projections into the lumen. The glands are made up of bland low-cuboidal eccrine cells, focally seen as two layers thick, with also focal pseudocribriforming. Mitoses are not identified.
