Comments

Sclerosing lipogranuloma (paraffinoma) is a factitial panniculitis, from the injection of lipid, or paraffin, for a variety of reasons. Often times, it is done to the penis or breasts for augmentation. The histology is variable, but may show a mixed septal and lobular panniculitis with a mixed infiltrate. There are characteristic variably sized holes, sometimes with polarizable material.

Description

The infiltrate is mixed and includes foreign-body type giant cells. There are variably-sized spaces, or holes, in association with the giant cells.
