Comments

This healthy 5-year-old girl developed flu-like symptoms with high fever, sore throat, arthralgias, and a diffuse acrally distributed purpuric eruption. Lesions were also prominent on her face around her mouth and nose. A sepsis evaluation was negative, but acute titers for Parvovirus B19 was positive. She improved with supportive care and her skin eruption cleared over the next 3 days leaving faint purpura.
