Comments

This is a typical example of pemphigus vulgaris, although this is a young patient. Direct immunofluorescence studies revealed a typical pattern of intercellular IgG deposition.

Description

At higher power, the suprabasilar cleft becomes more apparent. Dyscohesion along the superficial and lateral borders of the basal keratinocytes, or "tombstoning", is present. Acantholysis is notably absent.
