This healthy toddler had normal hair at birth which was shed at 4-6 months of age leaving dry lusterless hairs of varying lengths. Microscopic examination revealed twisting hair shafts with sharply demarcated fractures. A thorough medical examination revealed only a family history of hypoplastic dentition but no history of hair anomalies.
