Comments

This 25-year-old man developed scaly patches in his scalp every summer. However, this summer the patches were more extensive than usual, and he was treated with topical selenium sulfide shampoo and oral ketoconazole. A potassium hydroxide preparation of scale from the scalp revealed findings typical of pityrosporum versicolor.
