Comments

A 3 year old girl developed a recurrent varicelliform eruption of papules with central scale, necrosis, and crusting. This was her third episode this year. Lesions were widespread with involvement of her face, scalp, extremities and trunk. Pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA) is most common in adolescents and adults. PLEVA may evolve into a chronic form called pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) with recurrent episodes of mildly inflammatory scaly papules with adherent central hyperpigmented scale.
