Comments

This young man presented with a solitary flesh-colored to red papule on the chin. The differential diagnosis was a Spitz nevus versus a vascular neoplasm. This case has classic histologic features of a pyogenic granuloma, or lobular capillary hemangioma. Pyogenic granulomas may undergo different stages of evolution. Depending on when biopsied, they may be ulcerated, markedly inflamed, or even sclerotic/hyalinized.

Description

There is a single flesh-colored-to-red papule on the chin. Blanching can be elicitied. It is asymptomatic.
