This healthy 9 month old boy was sent for a second opinion before surgical excision of this birthmark. This smooth muscle and pilar hamartoma had a pseudoDarier sign (increased prominence and rippling with rubbing) and a skin biopsy showed the typical findings. Surgery was cancelled.
