This 5-year-old boy had a five day history of sore throat and fever. He developed a generalized fine sandpaper-like rash on day 4 of illness. He also had red, swollen tonsils, and palatal petechiae. The case was prepared by University of Mississippi year 4 medical student P Holland Alday.
