Comments

This healthy 13-year-old boy was evaluated for a large unilateral patch with a sharp line of demarcation at the midline of the back and chest and covered with multiple small brown freckle-like macules and a few larger café au lait spots. The pigmented lesions began to appear 4 years ago and were not associated with any other cutaneous or systemic medical problems. An ophthalmologic examination was normal, and her was performing well in school. These findings were consistent with segmental neurofibromatosis.
