This man reported the new-onset of a painful papule. He reported no history of trauma. This is just a good example of a foreign body, in this case, a splinter. Note the rigid squared-off cell walls of the plant matter.

Description

Foreign material is embedded within the superficial dermis. Yellow-brown cellular material with distinct angulated cell borders is surrounded by a mixed inflammatory infiltrate.
