Comments

This healthy vigorous newborn developed violaceous ndoles on his left elbow and right posterior upper arm at 5 days of age. He was afebrile and continued to feed well. His pregnancy, labor, and delivery were uneventful. A biopsy of one of the nodules on the right arm showed the typical changes of subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn, and cultures from the lesion were negative for bacterial infection.
