This eyelid specimen from a 36-year-old white man was felt clinically to be xanthalasma. Syringomas typically present around the eyes/eyelids of young adults. Rarely they are found in other locations, such as in the pelvic region.

Description

At higher pwer of the same lesion, the typical tadpole-shaped glands are seen. These glands are lined by bland low-cuboidal cells. Two cell layers are appreciated in some areas. There is light, eosinophilic secretions in some lumens. Mitotic figures are not present.
